Life is difficult, complex, thus, it is stressful

Stress is a universal human experience. It can be defined as a state that occurs when people are faced with demands from the environment that require them to change in some way. These environmental demands, whether pleasant or unpleasant require some kind of adjustment or adaptation. The environmental demand or stressor can be physical or psychological, intrinsic to a situation or attributed to it by the person involved, universal or unique to one person’s experience. Some specific stressors are physical in nature such as sleep deprivation, hunger, noise and pollution. Others are psychosocial such as traumatic events, life events, chronic difficulties, daily hassles and conflict. (Darley, J., Gluckserg, S., Kinchla, R. (1981))
Life on earth is very chaotic and perplexing. It is plagued by passion to possess. The pace of our modern world accentuates our sense of being fractured and fragmented. We feel hurried, strained and breathless. Its complexity tends to overwhelm us, thus, causing us stress. We cannot deny the fact that we human beings, more often than not are dictated by the world. Our circumstances control us and we accept this notion without a question. I personally would say that this is true. I can say this because I do experience it in my life despite of the fact that I am already a Christian. I then, conclude that this notion has no exemptions. All of us are prone to experience it.
